How to Master the Art of Letterbox Flower Arranging

How to Master the Art of Letterbox Flower Arranging
Flower Arranging Flower Care

Need some extra help preparing and arranging your new letterbox flowers? Just follow these detailed steps to become a floral pro!

Step 1. Unbox your blooms

Your delivery includes flowers wrapped in paper and sealed with a satin ribbon, along with flower food and an arranging guide. Follow the easy step-by-step instructions to arrange and prepare your blooms. Make sure to remove the flowers from the box carefully before starting.

Step 2. Remove leaves

Remove any damaged or wilted leaves and those below the vase water line. Extra leaves drain energy from the flower heads, causing premature wilting. Leaves in the water promote bacterial growth. Bacteria near the stem's base are drawn to the cut, potentially clogging it.

Step 3. Trim the stems

Trim 1-2 inches off the stem bottoms before putting them in water. Despite being pre-trimmed, fresh cuts are needed as they seal quickly without water.

Step 4. Fill vase with water

Select a vase that is about 2/3 the height of the flowers and ensure it is properly cleaned with soap. Fill it halfway with fresh lukewarm water.

Step 5. Start arranging!

To create a beautiful arrangement, start by building up layers of flowers gradually. This approach is beginner-friendly and will make the process easier. Begin with foliage as the base, then add smaller flower heads or subtle colours for shape. Save the colourful, large flowers for last; they will be the show-stopping element of your arrangement.

You're done! Enjoy your new bouquet and make sure you follow and tag @theblossomist.co.uk so we can see your creations.
