New Baby

Soft, pastel blooms are the classic choice for new baby flowers. Think roses, alstroemeria, and delicate seasonal stems in gentle whites, pinks and creams. At The Blossomist, we keep new baby arrangements soft and calming rather than bold, since they're usually heading into a home that's just had a big change.

At the moment we don't deliver directly to hospitals, as many maternity wards restrict flowers on the ward for space and infection control reasons. We'd recommend sending to the new parents' home address instead, ready for when they're settled in.

Keep it warm and simple. Something like "Congratulations on your new arrival, sending love to you all" or "Welcome to the world, little one" works well. You can add a personal message at checkout and we'll include it with the delivery.

Both, really, but if you're choosing one, send them to the new mum. She's the one who'll appreciate a moment of thought after the whirlwind of a new arrival. New baby flowers are as much a gesture for her as a celebration of the baby.

Colour is really the only distinction, and it's optional. Soft blues and greens work well for a baby boy, blush pinks for a baby girl, and a mixed pastel or white arrangement suits either beautifully if you'd rather not lean into colour at all.
