Flower Subscription Gifts for Christmas: A Guide

Flower Subscription Gifts for Christmas: A Guide - The Blossomist

Some people are easy to buy for. For everyone else, there is a present that doesn't need wrapping, doesn't take up space and is still arriving in March.

A gift flower subscription sends fresh, seasonal flowers to someone's door for as long as you choose. The first bouquet arrives before Christmas, and the rest keep coming long after the decorations are back in the loft.

Here is how our Christmas gift subscriptions work, how long to give one for, and what to write in the message.

How a Christmas flower subscription gift works

Our Christmas gift subscriptions are hand-tied bouquets of 20 seasonal stems, given for 3, 6 or 12 months. There is nothing for the recipient to set up or manage.

  • 01

Choose how long to give. Three, six or twelve months of hand-tied bouquets, or a full year of weekly flowers with 52 Weeks of Flowers.

  • 02

Add your message and pay once. Write it at checkout and we will include it as a handwritten note.

  • 03

The first bouquet arrives before Christmas with a gift certificate, so they know exactly what is coming.

  • 04

A fresh bouquet follows each month. Every one is designed by our florists around what is in season, so no two deliveries are the same. Delivery is included and each bouquet is covered by our 7-day freshness guarantee.

How long to give

All three Christmas lengths are the same hand-tied bouquet. The longer the gift, the less each delivery costs.

3 months · £90

Three bouquets at £30 each. Carries them through the darkest part of winter, from Christmas into early spring.

6 months · £165

Six bouquets at £27.50 each, saving £15. Takes them from Christmas into early summer, one season at a time.

12 months · £330

Twelve bouquets at £27.50 each, saving £30. A whole year of flowers, and still arriving next Christmas.

52 Weeks of Flowers · from £26 a week

A hand-tied bouquet every week for a year. The biggest gift we make.

Two gifts worth knowing about

If you are deciding between a long gift and a really long one, these are the two to look at.

12-Month Christmas Subscription Christmas gift subscription £330

12 hand-tied bouquets · 18 stems each · One delivery a month

A year of flowers, starting before Christmas. Each month brings a new hand-tied bouquet of 18 seasonal stems, arranged by our florists and ready to go straight into a vase.

At £27.50 a delivery it saves £30 across the year, and it is the gift they will still be enjoying when next December comes round. The first bouquet arrives with a gift certificate and your handwritten message.

52 Weeks of Flowers Pre-paid weekly subscription From £26 a week

52 hand-tied bouquets · Classic or Luxury · Every week for a year

Fresh flowers on the kitchen table every single week for a year. Choose Classic Hand-Tied at £26 a week, or Luxury Hand-Tied at £32 a week for more premium stems.

All 52 weeks are pre-paid, so there is nothing to manage once it is ordered. For the person who deserves flowers all year round.

Who a flower subscription suits

A flower subscription works best for people who would love fresh flowers but rarely buy them for themselves.

Parents and grandparents far away

A reminder every month that someone is thinking of them, even when you can't visit.

A friend in a new home

Fresh flowers to make a new house feel lived in, one month at a time.

Someone facing a hard winter

When one bouquet feels too brief, a delivery each month keeps arriving after the cards stop.

The one who wants nothing

For the person who always says not to get them anything. This does not need to be put anywhere.

What to write in the message

Your message arrives with the first bouquet, so it sets the tone for the whole gift. Keep it short and let the flowers do the rest. A few ideas to start from:

  • 01

“Something to look forward to every month. Happy Christmas.”

  • 02

“Because a card didn't feel like enough.”

  • 03

“For the months after the tinsel comes down.”

  • 04

“One for every month we don't get to see each other.”

  • 05

“Fresh flowers until spring, with love.”

For more ideas, see our guide to what to write in a Christmas card.

When to order

December is our busiest month, so order in good time to choose a first delivery before Christmas. You will find our last order dates on the Christmas gift shop. If you leave it late, you can still give a subscription, and the first bouquet will follow in the new year.

Frequently asked questions

  • How does a Christmas flower subscription gift work?

Choose 3, 6 or 12 months of hand-tied bouquets, add your message at checkout and pay once. The first bouquet arrives before Christmas with a gift certificate and your handwritten note, and a fresh seasonal bouquet follows each month.

  • How much does a flower subscription gift cost?

Our Christmas gift subscriptions cost £90 for 3 months, £165 for 6 months and £330 for 12 months. 52 Weeks of Flowers starts from £26 a week. Delivery is included.

  • Does the recipient need to be home?

Hand-tied bouquets need someone to receive them, so send to an address where someone is usually in. If that is unlikely, our Letterbox subscription fits through a standard UK letterbox, so nobody needs to be home.

  • Can I choose when the first bouquet arrives?

Yes. Choose the date for the first delivery at checkout. Order in good time in December to make sure it arrives before Christmas.

  • How long do the flowers last?

Every bouquet is covered by our 7-day freshness guarantee, and with the flower food included, most last longer.
